APCM ELECTIONS
The Annual Parochial Church Meeting was held on Tuesday 19th April. The evening started with the Vestry Meeting and we are pleased to announce that Joyce Harness and Richard Hart were elected to serve as our churchwardens for the forthcoming year.
A very big thank you must be said to Joy Parkinson who has served as churchwarden for 8 years and done a brilliant job. The various tasks that Joy has undertaken during that time are far too numerous to mention but they have all been undertaken with such good spirit and we are all really grateful for her unstinting dedication to our church and the support she has given. Thank you Joy.
Thank you to Richard for taking over the role from Joy as Churchwarden and to Joyce who is willing to continue with the excellent work she does.
PCC members for 2012-2013 are: Denise Bontoft (ex officio), Sally Chipperfield, Ruth Cooper (Secretary and Electoral Roll Officer), Angela Gilbert (ex officio), Nancy Hutton, Chris Moore, Helen Moore, Joy Parkinson, Ann Pearson, Rita Smith and David West (Treasurer).
Please pray for all those serving St Guthlac=s as members of your PCC and please feel able to approach any of the above if you would like to raise any issues regarding our church.
At the APCM the accounts for 2011 were presented and although we had a very good year for fundraising we were still unfortunately unable to meet our parish share. It is still vitally important to maintain and increase our regular giving and we are very grateful to all those who support the church financially in any way. The PCC will be attending a Cluster meeting on 3rd May when the Diocesan Resources Officer will be present to discuss ways forward for stewardship and planned giving in the Cluster.
